About Taxsutra Library
The Taxsutra Library is an extensive legal statutes database, which currently contains content of more than 260 Indian laws. We currently cover statutes across 15 different categories, which include Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Corporate Law, Audit and Accounting, Real Estate, Economic Crimes and a lot more!
When we say Statute content, we encompass not just the Act, but also all Rules, Regulations, Circulars, Notifications, Orders, Instructions, Guidance, and other sub-ordinate legislation under each law. We are not currently comprehensive, but we aim to be – we have a large team of lawyers that continuously adds new content to the Taxsutra Library. What has been added in the last one week is listed in our “What’s New section on the Home Page.
Yes, one notable thing that we have not mentioned is Case Law. For that we have our sister portals (see inks at the bottom of this page) which fill that knowledge gap. Currently, access to the Taxsutra Library is free for anyone who subscribes to one or more of our sister portals.
Our vision is to
-
Make the law easy to access & understand for laypersons & law/ tax experts alike, andTo become a single-point, comprehensive, accurate & easy-to-use resource covering all un-repealed Indian Central and State Acts along with all sub-ordinate legislation under each Act.
How do we make the mass of statute law easy to use?
-
We organise & permit access to all content hierarchically (Act > Part > Chapter > Section > Clause)We make it searchable (as explained on the Searching the Taxsutra Library section of our Home Page). We add context-aware many-to-many hyperlinks (by processes that use Artificial Intelligence). The hyperlinking is dense and rich – we already have 3.5 million hyperlinks embedded. Some topics may have over 100 hyperlinks. We give links in all topics to all related provisions in the RH Panel. We have begun embedding this feature for Direct Tax and Corporate Laws, but we will continually work on expanding the number of related links.
